Some of you may think to yourself what should I do this weekend? I wish I could go shoot some cool swinger targets, drop targets, Texas stars, pepper poppers, etc. I wish I could challenge myself mentally, physically, and test my abilities with my guns. Then you need to get out to Tucson Rifle Club or Pima Pistol Club! We have these resources available to us every weekend. We usually shoot USPSA, IDPA, 2 Gun Action Challenge, and Steel Challenge in any given month. The thing is, it can be a little intimidating to make the decision to head out to your first match but once you do you have already beaten 99% of the other shooters in town, just by showing up! If they do not participate then they forfeit. The matches are filled with nice people willing to help out a new shooter. It doesn't matter if you are a very experienced shooter, or a new gun owner, as long as you can be safe and have a good attitude you will enjoy yourself. Believe it or not you don't need any new gear to get out and shoot a match. Eye protection, ear protection, normal carry gear (belt/holster/mag-pouch), and a hundred rounds of functioning ammo is really all you need. Add a functioning rifle with a couple mags of ammo and a sling for the rifle matches. Of course it is always fun to get more/new gear too! It makes a day at the range a little easier with a good range bag, trauma kit, electronic ear-pro, new mag pouches, new holsters, mag-loaders, more ammo, etc. -Scott | | |
